Ferrocerium Rod, Pen, Toothpick, Carbide Scribe tool for Leatherman Surge

$14.00

Rod holder for Leatherman Surge.

This listing is for one rod type of your choosing. You will receive one holder and your choice of insert. Due to different diameters of the inserts, I do not recommend swapping different inserts in the same holder, as the holder may conform to fit the thicker insert, causing the others to be loose.

Please note: only 1 under-scissor tool can be installed at a time (i.e. - scribe, pen, toothpick or ferro rod).

This part is designed to magnetically adhere to the frame underneath the scissors on the Leatherman Surge. It will also fit the Free Series tools, but it will not be as smooth and secure as the one I’ve designed for the Free series (see my other listings).

The plastic holder has a small neodymium magnet installed in it which stick to the frame under the scissors. The shape of the holder locks it into the contours of the frame for a very secure attachment. To remove it, simply lift or pull back on the part visible from the outside and the part will rotate and lift out enough to remove the assembly. To install, just drop it in, slide it towards the end, and close the scissors.

The ferro rod is coated with a black paint to prevent corrosion. You will need to scrape through the paint layer before it will spark. It is recommended to use the spine of the saw or the awl to scrape the ferro rod.

These pieces are designed and 3D printed by myself.
